March for Jesus 2018
March Deconstructed J
As this is a work in progress and we need every available interested person to be involved we thought we would show you what we have so far. This could be a very memorable and fun day.
God has impressed us that it is time for Christians to have
a Public March. Many interest groups March and it is successful to visually see
that they are passionate about their cause. It is time for Christians to show Melbourne,
Australia and the world how grateful and how much we love God: the triune God; our
Heavenly Father; the son Jesus Christ and the helper the Holy Spirit.
Problem:
A March is public, visible and vulnerable. We want to be
bold but we want to be wise and gentle. How can we count the cost and be public
without being adversely affected? Is this cowardly or wise?
The church is split many ways with politics and social
justice and other issues, but we are all one in Christ. Can we put our
differences aside at least for one day?
Suggestions:
We deconstruct the March.
What date?
We should be mindful of what other events are going on at
the time of the intended March. Should it be a Saturday or Sunday?

city CBD. We could draw a boundary around Melbourne. Your Christian church or group
can meet from any point on the boundary.
·
Starting points: Carlton Gardens (30 mins), St
Patricks Cathedral, Fitzroy Gardens, Yarra Park (near the MCG), Goschs Paddock,
Royal Botanic Gardens, Guilfoyle’s Volcano (30 mins), Shrine of Remembrance,
Sea Life- Melbourne Aquarium, Docklands (45 minutes), Flagstaff Gardens, Queen
Victoria Market (30 mins) or Federation Square (15 mins). (Times are an indication, people will move at their
own group’s pace).
·
Identification: We can march or just walk from
these spots holding a sky blue balloon or sky blue clothing for identification,
walking just like you would if you are going for an afternoon stroll. You and
your group can be as visible as you feel comfortable.
·
Destination: We all walk towards the March for
Jesus 2018 destination which will be Birrarung Marr or Alexandra Gardens: either
side of the Yarra or have a big afternoon tea (You will bring your sustenance)
at about 3:00pm.
·
Radio communication: a radio station that will
occasionally give updates of the whole March’s progress. At about 4:00pm
someone over the radio could give a short praise and prayer for our beautiful
city and we can socialize and mix with other groups as much as you and others
feel comfortable.
We will need registration for numbers to give to authorities such as
police, security, public amenities such as toilets.
Should we notify the press?
